The Goodwe GW5048-EM hybrid/bidirectional solar inverter works in both grid-tied and off-grid systems.
The energy generated by the PV system is used to optimize self-consumption. Excess energy is used to charge batteries, and the remaining energy can be fed back into the grid. The battery can be discharged to support loads when PV energy is not enough to cover self-consumption demands. If PV and battery energy are insufficient, the system will draw energy from the grid to support connected loads.
The stored energy can be supplied whenever loads require it, even during the night. Additionally, the battery can be charged from the grid by the inverter, for example during off-peak electricity rate periods.
Improving self-consumption: the battery system stores excess energy generated by the PV array to feed solar energy back into the grid and avoid restricting solar production. When solar production is weak, the battery discharges to assist in load consumption.
Providing backup for critical loads: the battery stores solar energy or draws energy from the grid to cover energy needs during power outages. Loads like refrigerators, routers, lamps, computers, and other essential appliances continue to receive power when the grid fails. The system can automatically switch to backup mode in 8 milliseconds.
Scheduled programming: By setting the charge and discharge times, the battery can be charged with electricity generated during off-peak hours and discharged to power loads during peak hours.

The inverter comes with a 5-year warranty. The warranty will apply as long as the device has been used following the recommendations and respecting compatibility between parts.
