The new Smart PV Optimizer Huawei SUN2000P-600W is the evolution of the SUN2000P-375W. This allows optimizing the operation of a solar panel within a string of panels connected to a Huawei inverter from the SUN2000 L1, M1, M2, and M3 series.
Thanks to this optimizer, when a shadow falls on one of the panels with the optimizer, the total performance of the string will not be affected, increasing the total production of the installation.
In a solar panel array or string, the voltages of the panels are added together and their intensity tends to equalize to the lowest value. If one of the panels is affected by shade or has a different orientation within the string, it will reduce the overall performance of the panel array. When optimizers are used, the relationship between voltage and intensity is adjusted so that the performance drop does not affect the rest of the panels.
The advantage of the Smart PV Huawei system is that optimizers can only be placed on the panels where they are needed, unlike systems like Solaredge, which require optimizers to be incorporated into all panels.
Monitoring can be obtained through panel-to-panel optimizers thanks to the MBUS CC connection. With this, we can monitor the power and performance of each panel. The communication is done through PLC via the direct current wiring that comes from the panels.

Another highlighted feature of the Smart PV Huawei SUN2000P-450W Optimizer is that it allows to turn off the panel so that it does not generate voltage, ensuring the safety of the installation in case of accident or breakdown, as well as the safety of the personnel performing maintenance and/or repairs.
The Smart PV Huawei SUN2000P-450W Optimizer has an IP68 protection rating and comes with an accessory to be installed below the solar panel frame to which it is connected. It has a 1m wiring to facilitate the connection.
It supports an input of 450W, with a tolerance of +5%, allowing the installation of modules up to 472W, although the output would be limited to 450W. In any case, the STC conditions of radiation and temperature, at which the panel reaches its maximum power, rarely occur, so there would be no issue with installing 630W panels without losing performance.
The voltage range it operates in is 10-80V, and the short-circuit current is 15A, so it would not be compatible with G12 Half Cut cell panels, which typically have 18A.
It is worth noting that these optimizers are compatible with other inverter brands, although monitoring would not be possible.
It should be noted that they could be installed in sun2000L inverter strings but monitoring would not be possible.
