Technical Features.
The Turbo Energy Hybrid Series 48V 5.0 hybrid inverter is undoubtedly currently the most versatile hybrid inverter on the market. In addition to presenting the best quality/price ratio, it stands out for the following features.
It features a color LCD screen for monitoring and programming the equipment without the need for a mobile app or computer. This sets it apart from the rest of its competitors, as the trend seems to be towards inverters without screens. Care has been taken not to expose this screen to light.
The new improved version supports an input of 13A for each of the 2 MPPTs, making it compatible with the new 182 cell panels.
As an exclusive feature compared to any other model on the market, it includes, in addition to the main output and the backup output, an output called Gen Port. This can be used as an input for a microinverter or a small inverter, allowing us to add a third orientation to our installation, making it a very versatile product. Additionally, a generator or genset input can be added to this port. It has a dry contact output for activating the genset or other equipment.
With the Smart Load function, loads can be programmed through the Gen Port to function as an excess power diverter.
It is parallelizable without any additional accessories thanks to its RS485 ports. Up to 16 units can be installed in series in single-phase and 15 units in series/parallel in the three-phase option.
It has an OffGrid mode for standalone operation.
Highlights include battery charging and discharging, in normal and backup mode of 120A, higher than the 100A of the competition.
Another function not available in its rivals is the Peak Shaving option. When the load exceeds the contracted nominal power or the nominal power of the genset, it activates the inverter battery output to prevent surpassing it.
On the negative side, it includes a fan as a complement to passive cooling, which activates when the inverter has high demand. Although it may produce some noise, it extends the inverter's lifespan.
Operating Modes
- Smart Mode: Intelligently manages the generated solar energy and the battery to optimize economic performance.
- BackUp Mode: Reserves a percentage of the battery for possible power supply interruptions.
- Peak Shaving Mode: Reserves a percentage of the battery to prevent demand peaks that exceed the contracted power.
- Storm Protect: Protects your home from power outages by anticipating future storms or other phenomena, charging the battery and providing power when needed.
Batteries:
The inverter is designed to operate with or without batteries. When operating with batteries, it can charge and discharge up to 120A. It includes a backup output of 120A. The 48V low voltage batteries are compatible with a wide range of lithium batteries in addition to lead-acid batteries.
The Backup output allows critical loads to always be connected to this output. In case of a power outage, the backup output has a switching speed of 4ms, making it suitable for protecting computer equipment, among others.
The inverter incorporates a BMS that monitors the operation of the lithium battery and prevents it from operating beyond the designed parameters. Thanks to the CAN port, it communicates with compatible batteries for proper operation and monitoring.
